Precision Execution using Order Flow

While a candlestick chart tells you what happened in the past, Order Flow tells you what is happening right now. It is the raw data of market transactions, revealing the battle between buyers and sellers at every micro-price level. For the precision trader, Order Flow is the final filter before pulling the trigger.
The Depth of Market (DOM) is your most powerful weapon. It shows the limit orders sitting in the order book, providing a 'heat map' of potential resistance and support. However, the DOM can be deceptive—institutions use 'spoofing' to lure traders. This is why we cross-reference the DOM with the 'Footprint' or 'Tape' to verify if those orders are actually being executed.
Key patterns to watch for include 'Absorption' and 'Aggressive Participation.' If you see a massive seller repeatedly hitting a price level but the price refuses to drop, you are witnessing absorption—a buyer is quietly soaking up all that supply. Once the seller is exhausted, the price will snap back violently in the opposite direction. This is the hallmark of professional execution.
